The SALAH AZAIZ INSTITUTE is a public health establishment since the 1st of January 1993 , its organization is polarized around 3 poles and dispatched in 3 mains :

 

 :

1. The Board of Directors : constituted by 15 representend members which there is the medical body. Il is presided by a member appointed by the central administration.
The board of directors hes enlarged power to act in the name of the etablishment into the adoption of the badget, the decision into the important orientations of the institution. Il also proposes the creation the deprivation or the transformation of the medical pharmaceutical services, such as the organization of the administrative a technical services of the institute.
Prof. Amor TOUMI is actually in chair of this board

2.The General Manager is appointed by decree, he is in charge of the etablishment running on the administrative and financial side, he also has authority on the whole staff in the frame of the independence of the professional deontology of the practicien in his work.
The general manager coordinates with the help of the President of the medical committee and the heads of the medical, juxta medical services, the various services management

3.The Medical Committee presided by one of his members, elected head of service, is formed of various representatives which are heads of services, Médical body representatives, juxta medical and para medical.
The medical committee stands the objectives of the medical research programme plans and acurates the periodical evaluation of the efficiency and efficacity of the different services functioning on the medical scale (cares, trainings and research). He is also associated to any project which benefits the institution on the organizations scientific matter.

In reality, these three poles are articulated in an interactive way,
a good agreement without exaggerated interferences in the fonctionning each.
The ethical committee is composed of 10 members from which 8 doctors, the Director of the juridical and contentious unity of the Public health ministry and the representant of the consumer organization.
Its composition has been adopted by the medical committee the 12/24/2004 and confirmed by the board of directors the 12/25/2004. it is presided by Pr Khaled RAHAL.

 

Particularity and distruction of the SALAH AZAIZ Institute.

It is a regional references center as of breast cancer and uterius ; neck cancer.
It is the 1rst National center with a linear speed for the tratment of patients by radiotherapy with 2 Gamma cameras for the isotopic exploration as thyroid, lungs, kidney, bones….
The taling over and the treatment of patients is assumed by organ therapeutic committees depending on the multidisciplinary approach wich associates the surgeon, the radiotherapist, the chimiotherapist and the histopathologist…

The ISA is also a cancer data center for the north of Tunisia.
The pratice of self-transplant of surronding cells in the intensive care service of medecine since 1998 is prime in treatment of cancer in Tunisia.
